Many cities have local parades to celebrate the New Year. Check out your local Event Brite to see what is happening in your city. Of course, you can always watch the two famous parades on TV, the Rose Parade in Pasadena and London’s New Year’s Day Parade.
Volunteer
Start the New Year by giving back to others! Whether it’s a local food shelter, an organized beach or park clean up, or a local animal shelter, any time you can spend volunteering makes a difference.
Go on a Hike or Nature Walk
If weather permits, start the year off by getting in touch with nature. A hike or nature walk will also count towards any of your health and fitness goals.

Get Organized
If you never got to spring cleaning in 2019, now is a good time to start the year off with a new year closet cleanse! A good place to start is by watching Tidying Up with Marie Kondo.
Once your closet is organized try starting with all the hangers in your closet facing a one way. Each time you wear something, turn the hanger around and if you get to the end of the year and the hanger hasn’t been turned around, it means you haven’t worn it in a whole year. At that point, it is safe to say you can donate those items.
Binge Watch Your Favorite Show
Whether it’s on a cable network, Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+, make the most of your downtime. Perhaps you’ll want to binge-watch You Season 2 on Netflix, Killing Eve Season 2 on Hulu, or The Mandalorian on Disney+, either way, you’ll have plenty of time to catch up on anything you may have missed.
